Ireland is an island of the British Isles. Ireland has two parts, one part is the Republic of Ireland and the other part is Northern Ireland,where always have been fights between Catholics and Protestants. The capital of the Republic is Dublin and of the other part Belfast.
Ireland is famous for its literature (James Joyce or Flann O´Brien) and its music such as U2, the Dubliners or the Pogues. The environment of Ireland is very beautiful,people like the mountains, hills,fields and the rocky coast. In the past Ireland was an old fashioned place. The country didn’t have much industry so Ireland was one of the poorest countries in Europe. In the 80s, it began to change and more and more foreign industry came to Ireland, as well as the tourists.

It is important to mention that many people is able to speak Irish too, apart from English. As an example for understanding how difficult this language is, we could check the name of the capital city, Dublin, which in Irish is Baile Átha Cliath.
